If you flash ECUs with an AutoTuner tool, the last month has brought a long list of new protocols to download. From Volvo and Scania trucks to the PSA 1.6 THP, BMW’s latest Bosch controllers, Ford EcoBoost engines and Renault’s newest EVs, here is what changed between 28 September and 14 October 2026, and why it matters.
1. Trucks and off-highway machines lead the way
TRW Volvo EMS2.3 / EMS2.4 (14 Oct): now readable and writable on the bench (Normal Read) with the ATUBC130 bench cable. Supported applications include Volvo FH, FM and FMX New Generation with the D13K engine, Renault Trucks T/C/K/D with DTI11 and DTI13, and various Volvo Penta-powered agri, forestry and industrial machines. Specific datalogs for boost, torque, fuel supply and injection timing come with it. Read the announcement.
Motorola EMS S6 and Continental EMS S8 (7 Oct, beta): 100% OBD Normal Read for Scania trucks from Euro 3 to Euro 6 (Series 4 and P/G/R/S), Scania DC09 and DC16 industrial engines, and Doosan/Develon construction machines. You will need the 24V OBD cable, or the Scania S6/S8 bench cable for OBD-on-bench work. Read the announcement.
Continental EMS10 / CEM1 (9 Oct, beta): OBD Normal Read for Scania R and S series with DC13 and DC16 V8 engines. AutoTuner quotes 7 min read and 9 min 45 s write, with checksum correction. Read the announcement.
2. New passenger car coverage
Bosch MED17.4 TC1796 (12 Oct): fully OBD for the 1.6 THP petrol engine (2005-2018) in Peugeot, Citroën, DS and the Opel/Vauxhall Grandland. AutoTuner quotes a calibration read of 1 min 15 s and a write of 30 s. Read the announcement.
BMW DME8: Bosch MD1CP002 / MD1CS001 / MG1CS003 (28 Sep): these SPC5777M ECUs now work directly in Bench mode, so you no longer need to use the mail-in unlock service. Coverage includes BMW 1 to 8 Series, Z4, X1 to X7, Mini and Alpina diesels, with a quoted read time of 3 min 45 s. Read the announcement.
Denso VEA Gen2 SPC5777M (2 Oct): AutoTuner calls this a world-first, exclusive Bench solution for Volvo Drive-E engine ECUs that it says could not be read or written since late 2017. After a one-time bench unlock, an OBD patch makes later work easier, and Bench mode is recommended for cars with a Secure Gateway. Read the announcement.
Bosch MG1CS018 (29 Sep): 100% OBD Virtual Read/Write for Ford and Lincoln EcoBoost platforms, including the F-150 2.7L, Ranger 3.0L V6, Explorer (including PHEV), Edge, Transit 3.5L and Lincoln Aviator. Read the announcement.
3. A step into EV tuning
Bosch VC1CP010 (5 Oct): Bench support for a control unit used across Renault, Alpine, Dacia, Nissan and Mitsubishi hybrids and EVs, including the Renault 5 and 4 E-Tech (6AK motor) and Megane/Scenic E-Tech and Alpine A290 (6AM motor). AutoTuner points out that this hardware is shared across outputs from 95 to 220 hp. Read the announcement.
4. MyFlasher 2.8.0 for the One ecosystem
The MyFlasher app (iOS/Android, 13 Oct) now lets end customers open datalogs sent in chat as interactive graphs, with parameter selection, zoom and value read-out. AutoTuner also reports Bluetooth transfers up to 10x faster, Wi-Fi transfers 2x to 5x faster, and more stable communication with the One device. Read the announcement.
Takeaway
In practice, heavy-duty tuners get the most from this cycle: Volvo, Renault Trucks and Scania coverage grew substantially, though two of the Scania protocols are still in beta. Car specialists get a faster BMW workflow, a long-awaited Volvo Drive-E solution and the widely used PSA THP ECU. Update your AutoTuner software and check the official compatibility list for your specific hardware and software numbers before you connect.
